I wonder if we will ever see a 102 with S30V that is readily available? It seems a logical choice. I would buy one today, assuming the price was right.

Buck did a series using S30V steel which had the 102 in it. The Signature series. A striking series. In 2006. DM

Forgot about the 802 till David mentioned it. I know it is called the "Signature Series" but actually hate the signatures... ruin a beautiful blade.

Yes, I agree. But that's the only way they come. Still, a mirror polished blade with checkered walnut handles, a lanyard hole and up grade sheath. Man, that's a handsome model. And hard to find. I guess Buck didn't make that many. DM

Maybe Buck will make it available on their website.

I would love it if Buck made a standard 102 with S30V or S35VN or something. There is a lot to love about the 102 and a steel upgrade would just make it that much better.

In the mean time you could search for one of the Signature models or procure one with 440C steel. DM

Those signature series were beautiful knives. I never picked one up due to the signature, thinking that eventually a non signature one would come out. I guess I was wrong.:)

I have an old 102, of course. Buck made a 102 for LL Bean with S30V. I remember it had a leather stacked handle. We can hope.

I know this is not the first time I have mentioned this topic, but I think if I keep on someday Buck will listen.

Would have bought that one but, I just couldn't get past the LL Bean billboard on the blade. Preston
