Been anxiously awaiting seeing the Talon available.... any target dates?

As my first kid is on the way I can handle the wait. But I am still putting a penny or two away for one of these.
 
Hi Bob,

I spoke with Will about a week ago on this exact thing. He said it would be early April (maybe first or second week...hopefully no later!)

I trust that if things have changed since then he will speak up! You're not the only one waiting to get one

As usual, Dexter is on top of things! We have the knives ready, and are waiting on sheaths. They are due to arrives around the second week of April. We will IMMEDIATELY begin shipping them to our direct dealers first, then to our distributors. Familar internet dealers that will have them ASAP will be....Knifecenter, KnifeOutlet, Chai Cutlery, 1StopKnifeShop, C&R Specialties, and AGRussell.

NOBODY is as anxious as I am to start shipping the TALON! I will make an announcement here when the head out the door.

I'm getting rather frustrated, too! Again. We were told early March..., then a rumor it would be early June..., then we were told very early April.., then early last week (mid April). It's now getting into late April, and no one's saying anything.

Still waiting on sheaths, I guess. I'm very close to cancelling my order from two months ago. I can get talonite knives without the wait.
 
It's not so much the wait as it is the silence.

Helloooooooooooooooo...... :sound trails off into deafening silence....:

Hey Guys,
I told folks he middle of April, and that is here now. I meet with the folks from BLADE-TECH this past weekend while in Oregon for the knife show. They had the final sheath proto for our approval. There were some problems with it and the corrections are being made as we speak. I refuse to send out products before they are right! Sorry, but we are doing EVERYTHING we can to get the sheaths done ASAP.

Folks that attended the show say the final knives, and they turned out SWEET. Rob Simonich was VERY pleased,....we accidently mixed -up one of his custom pieces on our table and he actually had to read the etch to find his custom amoungst our production 'collaborations'. I will make an announcement here on the CAMILLUS forum as soon as I'm sure of the ship date. BELIEVE me, nobody wants to ship this new model more than CAMILLUS.

Tim Wegner and crew are working non stop adjusting the sheath now. THe sheath looks GREAT, and I know customers will be pleased with the end product, but we are going to ensure that its right before it leaves the factory.

Thanks for the reply, Will! Having 5 of Rob's knives & dealt with Tim on his collaboration with Rob on the Pro Hunter fixed blade, the knife & sheath can only be awesome. I've talked to Rob a couple of times since the show & he was very impressed with the job you did on the knife - if he was impressed then it can only be outstanding & I know the quality sheaths that Tim produces. The wait is hard but my feeling is it's better to get it right the first time. Is the TEK-LOC going to come with the sheath? If not will it be able to be used with the sheath? If the TEC-LOC won't be an option for the sheath, what are the attachment options?

Yes, the plan is for the sheath to use the TecLoc, hopefully the new MINI version of the TecLoc

Its going to be about 2/3rds the size of the exixting TecLoc. Tim is going all out on this sheath, so it should be great!

Outstanding! The Tek-Loc sytem is really nice and a 3/4 size would make it just that much better - the only complaint with the original was it was a little bulky. Sounds like you are really going all-out on this - it is going to be one nice package.

So, Blade-Tech is working hard on the sheaths, eh? I suppose now would be a really bad time to call and place a special order on some bulk concealex? ya think?

Will,

How about offering a version of one of those BKT knives with one of Rob's parasite style knives? Better yet how about some more production versions of Rob's great designs?
Oh and can I get one with real MOP? I just had to throw that last part in.

We really like working with Rob, and I wouldn't be surprised if we do more projects together, but give me a break TC, we haven't started shipping the FIRST one yet!

How 'bout shipping just the *knife*??!!?!? I wouldn't be nearly as frustrated waiting for just the sheath! <s>
 
Ship the knife! I can make my own sheath (which I generally do anyway, even if the knife is supplied with a sheath).
