I just got back from helping a friend lay sod in his back yard. We were more BSing than anything but it was good to have the company. While his wife was making lunch, he went in and came out with two nice fixed blades. One is 13" with a 8" blade he made from an electric hacksaw. The guard and buttcap are aluminum, the handle is hickory coated black and has two brass pins. It is shaving sharp. I don't have a pic... but think Randall :D . The other is a Schrade caping knife that we ground the rivets out so I can customize it. I'm thinking purple heart would make nice scales for it after I mirror polish the blade. The man that gave me the knives is a deep down gun nut and thought I could provide a good home for his knives since he no longer hunts. Besides that, he also showed me a few 6mm rifles he made and his prized TC Contender in .222 and his Ithica falling block .22 LR.

I've given away a fair amount of knives and I guess my knife karma was catching up with me. :p

I love when something like that happens.

I have given away so many, I have received a few too.

when my wife left her home town, her father gave her a USMC machette (a classic). It was all rusty and beat up. After 5 years of marriage I had it refinished. New handle and polished the blade and got a leather sheath made. Then I gave it back to him, He was impressed.
it made me feel so good.

Kharma can be a beautiful (or terrible) thing!
It's always nice to hear when someone gets a bit of the good stuff!
:D
