I recently got a WH 9A (Kestrel)- like it so much that I have a 12A (Spearpoint) ordered. Have been looking at the "Evolution", but have some questions - hopefully somebody can help. Are these knives made here (US)?? I'd heard they are imported from Japan. Are they the same quality as the other WH offerings? The pics that I've seen of them show an added mark under the WH trademark. Is there some significance to this?? Thanks

The evolutions are made in Japan with VG 10 steel, which is excellent. I own the "07" wharncliff with micarta and it's built really well. It makes a nice companion for my Spyderco Viele which also is VG 10 made in Japan!

Just 'cause yer paranoid don't mean someone ain't out to get ya!

GronK -- thanks for the response. Hope my post isn't interpreted as being anti-Japanese products. Not my intent! My Pentax binoculars and Olympus cameras are from there. My concern was the quality issue - my Kestrel is super smooth and the fit is almost "custom". Sounds like you're very satisfied with the workmanship on your knife. I'd sure like an opportunity to handle one. Thanks again.

I've owned a bunch of William Henry products, still carry the T10 Carbon Fiber everyday, and recently picked up the Evolution wharncliffe, mine has G10 onlay and also the VG-10 blade which is WICKEDLY sharp make no mistake! I called Matt Conable and asked him about the VG-10 and he said there were a lot of cut fingers at the shop!

Parts are made in Japan, I believe they are assembled in the shop here in the states, main difference is the scales are stainless verses titanium and it has an open back with just spacers along the handle back. Locks up secure and I use mine a lot on my leather work, that wharncliff point is SO useful!

Get one when you can...

I'm not sure where they are assembled, but the difference in cost is accounted by the fact they are NOT hand finished. (as are MOST production folders) I am very happy with mine.

Hey Pete what are you doing over here? I'm glad to see you here! We had breakfast and you didn't even ask me this question, I'm hurt! We both know I didn't have the answer, but you could at least ask. Is this the begining of a WH collection? I think it is!

You may want to just skip this step and start
collecting customs! You all ready have a knife from Jim Largent I believe.

I just inherited a stick welder and a Oxygen/Acetylene torch plus a bottle of Argon for my MIG welder. WhoooHooo, didn't you need some work done on your truck.
