Hey all,

I received this knife as part of an unusual trade and I don't have a lot of information on it. Can anyone here shed any light? Maybe on when it was made, etc??

Thanks!!

Doesn't look like any of their current offerings but does share some similarities with their older Titan series. Not sure on which model or when it was built though.

EDIT: I did a little more googling and I think it is some variant of a William Henry B15 Titan. Though I have never seen one without blue anodizing or that style of thumb stud.

Interesting. Thanks!

I’m certainly not an expert on WH knives; I don’t own any but I’ve been looking at them for a while.

I believe your knife is a budget version of the Lancet style, I think called the Vanguard. They’re genuine WH knives but definitely entry level. I’ve looked at a few Vanguards in the $400-$500 range and passed as they just don’t bring the bling of more expensive models. Hopefully this wasn’t portrayed to you as more than this.

I hope this helps. As unwisefool unwisefool said, best to contact WH directly.

no that value sounds about right. Similar to this one: http://www.knifepurveyor.com/william_henry_tom_brown_quest_button_lock_knife_4245.aspx

One of my favorite folders check out this article my friend Dexter wrote up about it

I read this article after I bought and used the knife. I thought the praise was faint.View attachment 1510803 I checked Tom’s book out of the library (The Tracker). It is a good read. I don’t agree with Tom on pocket clips. The clip I installed on my “Tracker” is one of the least obtrusive clips of any I have used.
I carry this 55gm knife in the placket of my shirt. I can access it with either hand while seated. When the knife is clean and tuned, it can be flicked open and shut. When assaulting a Mylar bag of potato chips, you can open, slice, close, and put away the knife while holding the bag in your other hand (survival!).

so I assume you’ve taken this knife apart and cleaned it. Any trickyness to it? Mine could likely use a cleaning.

The trickiness is getting the spring loaded lock button reinstalled. Leave the standoffs, blade stop pins, and T-nut/pivot attached to the right scale. With the right scale on the table, add the R/H washer, compress the button spring with the button while using the blade to hold the button down, add L/H washer, and add the L/H scale. Keep scales squeezed together until L/H screws are installed. Blue Loctite on the T-nut screw will hold the pivot adjustment.

Very nice folders! I got this T-12 in 2003. Had one little issue with a screw holding the clip on. The head popped off. Sent it back to William Henry for the fix. No problems since then. I bet if you contact them, you could get some info about yours.

Nice, they are a great knife, here's another thread I made regarding this style of folder and I dearly miss them all :(
pardon the photobucket logo on them as photobucket and I had parted ways a long time ago when they went wacko on pricing...
