Im thinking about getting a william henry knife, most likely one of the edc ones. Before I do though I wanted to see what people thought of them. Is this a knife worth getting? I'm mostly interested in what people think about the lock. Thank you.

I can't speak specifically on the edc models as I haven't bought one yet. That being said; I do have a few WH knives with their button lock. The button lock works well, engages every time and will keep this knife locked open, when you use it like a folding knife should be used. The reviews I've read have all been very positive.

If you are looking for some super tough tactical knife the William Henrys are not the ticket. If you are looking for a light weight, well made everyday carry knife that you will enjoy owning and using then WH is for you.

Yeah im not going to use it super hard. Im mostly looking for a good nice cutter. I don't expect the lock to perform like a tough tactical knife. I would like it to be solid enough though where I wouldn't have to worrie about it failing doing reasonable tasks for a knife like a william henry. I just have never owned a button lock so I am looking for input. Thank you for your response.

I have held them and fondled them every time I go to my local B&M store (years now), but I can never bring myself to spend that kind of money on a gentlemans folder. The owner of the store I frequent edc's a nice model - and he uses it to open mail, packages and boxes. He has had no problems with his at all - and he can pretty much carry any knife he wants, as he carries (sells) most of the major brands. It appears WH perfected the button lock - every one I've handled worked very well and was solid.

The knives in general appear to be very well made, and the fit and finish is fine. They are on the small side for me, and I keep thinking how many other knives I could buy with the money I would spend on just one of them. Their new edc line is nice but small.

I personally would probably only carry it around as man jewelry and the toughest thing I would use it for is opening mail.

Great knife, get the EDC E10, the E6 is good as well but the longer blade and handle feels better to me. I have both and find the E10 gets more pocket time because of it. I also have other models with no problems with the button lock, they are a well made knife.

I have the edc6, the 10 was too big for me. Love, same quality as the more expensive WH's of which I have many liner locks that I collect. You'll like it. I got the carbon fiber inlay model.
