How do these 2 knives compare? They are in the same price range. The quest looks delecate but I read that it is supposed to be very tough. Would the quest be sharper and retain edge better than the sebe?

How would these 2 compare for a daily cary user knife?

The quest is nicer, but personally I would go with the sebenza for the following reasons:

The sebenza offers a more fullfilling handle that suits my needs
I prefer the frame lock as the button lock would worry me
The S30V would seem to be easier to sharpen
I prefer hard use knives over more gentleman style
The sebenza is soooo much nicer in my hand (I have basketbally player style hands)

Overall, either one will be nice... But for me, personally, the sebenza will fit my hand better, serve my needs, and would be the one for me.

Disclaimer: I have only hand one cup of coffee and am not held liable for the above statements ;)

With a screen name of Sebenza4ever, why are you even asking this question?

My one and only folder is a Mayonized Large Classic Sebbie. So far, I haven't seen the need for another folder.

Well, there IS a blade in my Leatherman Supertool, but I've never used it except to cut myself. LOL

KnifeAddictAK,

What about slicing ability and edge retention?

From looking at a buddies sebenza, it would suit me well. The quest is wicked cool, but my taste leans towards a sebbie. If you already have a sebbie, I wouldn't hesitate to get the quest. Either way, you'll pick right

The Quest is really a gents knife. Very light, thin, great fit and finish. The one that I have handled has a blade profile that is much more suited for slicing than any of the Sebenzas that I have handled, large or small. Edge retention will be significantly better than the Sebenza. So if you want a nice gents knife, get the Quest. For a hard user, the Sebenza is a better choice.

The Quest is specifically NOT a gent's knife. It was designed as a wilderness tool and was test for months by Tom Brown et. al. It does have a thin blade, which makes it a good KNIFE not a chopper. The only thing negative I've heard is that the soft outer steel can get scratches, but since it's a user blade, who cares. Get the Quest, "don't buy no ugly knife" and the sebenza is the "grey tird."
