Some real pretty folders and me in the market for a real pretty folder. I Just got promoted and its time for a present from me to me. What is the word on William henry knives.
ALex
Definite top shelf knives. Craftsmanship is excellent as well as the variety of handle materials available. Though, they are not custom knives but IMHO they are as close to custom as production will ever get.

How much are you thinking of spending on yourself? If I had the $$$ I would look real seriously at William Henry, Dan Burke (who was featured in Blade this latest issue) or, if you could find one, the Tony Bose/Case collaboration (although that may be more of a collector's piece).
I am up to two spearpoints w/ amber bone and pearl. They are classy little knives and are well made. At least the ones I have. I would recommend them to anyone who likes the design. Gary Graley has a great HZ sheath he makes for this pattern as most of the WH line comes with no clip and a cheesy slip sheath.
BUY all means get a WH folder, the Spearpoint Rainbow series that I have is just plain sweet! I think of it as an heirloom quality type of knife. The kind that in years from now when my great great great grandkids find it in the drawer they will go wow, neat knife!
And the lockup on mine is very good, and I use the knife on occasion, don't baby it too much, but doubt I'd skin a deer with it, hate to get it all full of crud.
I think I'll search for a Lancet either Pearl or Amber.
Gee SammyB, Two? Bet that Mother of Pearl is a good looker!
I`ve always admired Willian Henry Knives since I first handled one. I`ve never heard anything bad about them, ever! So imagine my suprise when I saw that Discount Knives stopped carrying Willian Henry due to "QC problems". Does anyone know what that is all about? I was going to send some emails of inquiry to the folks who might know, but if anyone here has any info, I`m all ears!
Personally, I love William Henry knives and intend on purchasing a couple over the next few years.
I have owned two. They were both perfect and I still own one. When I first saw them I had never seen a William Henry before or ever heard the name. But after handling them I couldn't make up my mind so I bought both. Quality is top notch and I have never heard of any QC problems.
As a matter of fact, Biginboca's second WH is now in my brothers' possession. I gave it to him as a birthday present, and it has become a daily habit for him. Just goes to show it just takes the right knife to bring someone into the fold.
Hey Gary, is two too many? I have two Lancets (One fancy one plain) and have been considering a second Spearpoint. CF? Oak? Bone? I just can't decide.
Two of any knife I like is not enough!!! (Although my wife sometimes disagrees.) I was considering one of those fancified ones such as you have. The pearl is awful pretty and I am considering giving it as a gift to my dad for his birthday. It makes me nervous to use it sometimes.
I want to get my amber bone spearpoint engraved though. Anyone do this with one?
All it takes is money right?
-Sam.
