I am thinking about buying a WH knife, most certainly their "Evolution" series, manufactured in Japan, due to the price tag on their US manufactured knives. Has anyone any experience of this brand, and the above series in particular?

Maybe it's not a big deal considering it's supposed to be a "gent's" knife or whatever, but the stainless liners and lock on the Evolution series are way thin. That'd be my only gripe... Otherwise, WH is top drawer.

Professor.

But designed that way. Make no mistake, these knives are A+, but designed for very light use. Fingernails, threads, etc. The clip case is awesome. I had the Wharncliffe in Black palm and loved it. I miss it....:(

I have found the William Henry series to be excellent in every aspect. As stated before, they are somewhat light duty, but I bet their overall strength would supprise most people. They are put together very well, and QC is outstanding.

I have a Cocobolo, spearpoint Evolution that I carried to work everyday. It is very nice, especially for the price tag. I also have a carbon fiber Lancet model. This one is a lot more costly, but it is top notch. The Evolution series are nice, and the price does reflect that, but, if you want an outstanding William Henry, go with the American made models.

The Evolution series is a good buy, IMO. The quality is there and they make a very nice "office carry." Mine came wickedly sharp and still is...

Other than the thinness as the Professor noted above, I have nothing but good comments about these knives. The evolution series is excellent bang for your buck. Excellent steel, excellent lock-up, very good feel in the hand, comes with a clip-case (a great pants pocket saver).

Go for it, you'll like it. I got the Wharncliffe model. Sharp as a razor right out of the box and sharpens up like a dream.

I have the SO-5 with G-10 scales and really like it. As stated above, it is not a heavy-use knife, but it is not intended as such. For a light duty gent's knife, it is a very good value and a pleasure to carry.

I just ordered an 05-model with cocobolo handles. The pics were just too tempting... I did buy it as a "dressy folder" since I really didn't have any. I'll definitely not try chopping down mid-sized trees with it... :D

I've asked about them a few days ago and general comments were very favourable. Just the "push" I needed!
