William Henry knives???

I have been thinking about picking up a william henry knife, I really like the BT09 size with a pocket clip. I have several ZDP and S110v knives, and that seems to be the first thing I consider these days in a purchase since they hold up so well. So here is the question:

Are these just pretty knives, or are they fairly durable?

I see many of them for sale used, and not many of them have cut anything. The steel is superior to S30v, and it appears that the materials and workmanship are as good as a sebenza, plus they can be bought second hand for similar or less pricing, the how come there is very little written here about these knives?

my friend,i had the opportunity to handle various william henries,as well as chris reeve sabenzas as those were my 2 once in a life time purchase. the wh's were absolutely beautiful. high end everything, wasn't sure about the durability of them though, the store owner carried one and believed they are every bit durable as they are beautiful.
however, after handling the seb i was sure for me and my purposes it was the one for me.not as flashy as the wh but more stout, closer tollerances.not saying that the wh"s are less than but for me the choice was obvious. i will say that the wh's do give me a chill when i can hold one. it just so happens that a co-worker bought a wh so i can still get that chill. anyway that's my story

I have a WH CF (I believe it is th BT 09 size) that I've carried as my EDC in the office for a few years now. It is a very nice knife, very light weight, and high quality. All that said, it is not one I do or would like to use for EDC on the farm or in the woods. For that, I tend to use a different folder or often a fixed blade. For quite a while, I used a Benchmade CQC7 (that was pretty stout; but I really didn't like - bevel on wrong side and serrations). That knife failed on me one day. The WH might hold up to lateral pressure, abuse, and etc; but I have dozens of knives so why risk my office EDC when I have many others more suitable.

I regularly carry and use WH knives. The oldest is 4 years old and looks like new, apart for light signs of wear in the bolsters (sheath carry). They hold up as well as any high quality knife, or better. All my pocket knives see very little action, though. For heavy duty I use more appropriate knives. I cut fruit, open an occasional box or blister pack, cut string, and similar light chores. WH knives are good to carry because they are people friendly. They are also works of functional art. I often hold them just for the pleasure of it.

While I don't own any, I've fondled a good number of them. They're as durable as any other folder that's built in a similar fashion. The build quality was as good as any but the very best custom folder makers I've seen. I'd describe them as delicate, but reasonably durable if that makes any sense.

I think they are a gentlemens knife and not a working mans knife. They will working for light duty cutting and are razors (the ones I held anyways) but they are thin and I think better choices can be usd for harder outside work like gardening etc. Personally, id take a sebenza hands down

I own a few

They're not heavy duty baton me through wood an cut up some concrete tiles style of knife, but for EDC, you know, normal cutting tasks they hold up very well. In places where I'm not allowed to carry a locking folder, I carry a W-H Legacy slippy. I've got two lancets, and these are a bit on the small side. I've also got two Gentacs, and these are perfect for EDC.

And they're sooooo pretty!
