I am new to collecting knives and William Henry just bought my first one and maybe only one. I was wondering do the Letter "B" in B05.... "T" in T12, the G in G30 have any meanings?

Thanks

Jim

Scurvy092 your correct. I called William Henry today and was told no meaning behind the letters but T and G models are no longer manufactured. The B models are current manufacture.

Agree with above esteemed posters. I own four WH's and the letters/numbers simply indicate model lines, like B-05 is the Monarch line.

There is a meaning actually. The numbers are the model lines, you can find them on their website. The B denotes the newer line of knives sporting the button lock. The T knives sported a liner lock and are no longer in production. The E knives are part of their "EDC" series, started by the E6 and E10, which are their lower cost knives with anodised alunimium handles.

The GenTac used to be called the G30, I'm not sure why, but it seems it has been given the B designation now too. They also made a friction folder, which I believe was given the H designation.

Good post. That wasn't how I interpreted the original post. I thought he was looking for a reason for using those letters like if the b in b12 stood for button lock or how the Mercedes SLK stands for sport light coupe in German.

I don't have the answer to that. B appears to stand for button lock and E for EDC but T doesn't seem to have anything to do with the term "liner lock". Since the WH representative has said they don't mean anything I think we can assume they're arbitrary but with some order, like the series numbers in BMW vehicles.
