Hello, I don't know if any of you can assist me. I do hope so. I own two cutlery stores in Washington state, Spartan Cutlery. I have had a William Henry stolen from my Spokane, Washington store. It is a model T12, with a polished damascus blade, engraved sterling silver handle, sapphire thumbstud - number 23 of 30. Should any of you notice it posted for sale (as the thief took all the paperwork and the box) please let me know. I have filed a police report, called every damn pawn shop - but if you have any ideas where it might be moved, I would be very grateful.

I'll keep my eyes open for your WH knife over here on my side of the mountains.

Thanks. And then can we kill the thief :)

Is there some website that posts stolen knives??

That sucks. Do you have a picture by chance, I'll keep my eyes open. If I knew you had a damascus WH in there I would have been in to drool on your countertops.

Sorry to hear that. I enjoy your store and visit the Kennewick store each time I go to the mall. Will keep an eye out.

By the way, I also think a picture would be a great idea, if you have one. It seems that whenever there is a knife for sale on the internet there are pictures accompanying it. A picture would go a long way to helping recognize the knife if we see it for sale.

It was a beautiful knife... creep that the thief is!! I'm not sure how to post or include a picture. I'm going to try to link to the auction page it was on - funny to me it disappeared on the day the damn auction ended. Humpf!!

Your comments make my loss a little sweeter! Next time you're in, stop and say hello and we can gripe about creeepy people.

Thanks again

Cyndy

Well, I guess I can't figure out how to add a photo. I'd be happy to email a photo to someone smarter than I!

Thankas - you guys are great. It was actually the only knife I've ever really lusted after. Oh well... chalk it up to another round of people are creeps. Thanks for all your help. If you should ever see it, my email is ckoures@comcast.net.

I think I'll go cry some more now :)

That's my new favorite questions. I think an employee was tag teamed. A customer bought a collectible that forced the employee into the back room, hours later that same customer exchanged the item (small collectible airplanes) for throwing knives. That seems odd to me. There were several people in the store when it supposedly happened - so tag teaming is about all that makes sense to me. Unless I have an "inside" shopper - which I hope I don't. Gotta love retail! And, I used to wonder why so many retail shop owners were such putzes.

I've bought a few knives from you and looked at a handful of others and so have seen were boxes are kept and such but it still seems puzzling that a thief would take the time to rummage around to find the box. Was anything else stolen with it? If not, why take the risk to steal just one knife if you're going to be behind the counters anyway?

Excellent point. And, as it was displayed next to some other high end knives, like Paul folders, would you be inclined to think it was an inside job?? Also, on this particular knife, I did have it on the box as the colors popped better against the black. See what I get for asthetics!

Hello,
It sounds to me like an inside job. How many employees do you have? Unless you know exactly what you are looking for the box to a WH doesn't exactly scream out its identity. What I would do is make an announcement that you have found out the thief and you will give them 24 hours to return it no questions asked. Then see if it turns up.

Dennis
