First up: Thanks to Insipid Moniker for the heads up on the value question/lapsed membership issue. Gold subscription renewed.

Now, back to the question.
I have a William Henry knife that I bought years ago on closeout at a knife shop(?). It has never seen any duty tougher that cutting up a ribeye or opening an envelope. Never sharpened, just lightly touched up once or twice. Info on these early William Henrys is thin on the ground. I can't find any mention of them, let alone any for sale to get a reference point. Any Ideas?

Thanks for the heads-up.

On one of the auction sites I've seen similar new in box like this go for approximately $300. Keep in mind there's nothing that ornate about this particular knife. Used you maybe looking at a bit less.

The "Value" question always comes down to what someone is willing to pay for something on a particular day depending on so many other factors.

Are they missing it from their collection?
How are WH knives viewed in the market right now?
How is the entire knife market right now?
Rarity.

I am not going to list all the factors that go into "value" but it's a moving target and almost impossible to say.

Today, with the right buyer, $300 would be as good a guess as you'll get, but again, are any that are out there actually selling at that price point?

They are from WH Global line, hence the globe in the mark. Blades are made in Japan of VG 10 by Moki, assembled in US by WH. They ran no more than $200 when new. Yours is a smaller one. The line did not last long, per a knife shop owner they were poor sellers. I have a larger one, cocobola, paid $200 for it in a knife store, no discount. The concept was gentleman tactical at a reasonable price.

Butch, that is a nice WH knife you have there, you definitely don't see those much at all anymore. My guess falls within the same numbers you've been given. Between around $250-$300. TO the right person, they could feel that it is a bargain at that price though. Sometimes we get lucky that way.

I have owned over 800 william henrys and have collected them for the last 15 yrs. Your knife MIGHT bring $200-250 on ebay for the reasons given above. It did not sell well and they quickly dropped the from their line. Not considered collectible by wh collectors and i know many.
good luck

It a sweet knife though, I agree, not a collector's piece. Mine has the longer blade, no serrations and a less pronounced clip. Lightweight, with a Moki edge, and a slightly "tanto" inflection, I use mine and love it. Bigger than many WH. They are great users, the heat treat is exceptional, fit and finish what you'd expect from WH.

SO what did you pay for it??? We are dying to know. I would agree with everyone as to the value at around $300. I bought a plain(by todays standard) T12, before the were serialized. I paid around $300.

As noted above, I paid $200 for a new one in a brick and mortar store with no discount. I bought it right after it was discontinued and the store sells at MSRP for just about everything. The Evolution series are not serialized.
