are william henry knives good? is there an owner of a william henry knife to inform me about strenth, sharpness?

I'd rate William Henry knives at the top end of the production category, and better than the median custom folding knife.

The Black and Tan (T12BT if I remember correctly) is one of my favorite all-time carry knives.

They are pretty specific in their design - if you are looking for a Benchmade 630 or similar mega-tactical, then William Henry doesn't have a knife for you. If you are looking for a dressy EDC for opening packages and not scaring people if you use it to cut your steak at a restaurant, then they are about the best production knife on the market.

W/H makes the finest small knives I have ever owned or even held. I have 5, all have superior fit and finish, razor edges and are strong for their size.

W/H knives are among the best I've ever seen. My new B12-FT Titan just kicked my small Sebenza out of my pocket as my new EDC. With the ZDP-189 laminate steel blade at HRC 67, it cuts like a scalpel. If you are familiar with and appreciate Klotzli, you will love a William Henry.

I have two right now and have sold two, one of which I wish I havn't.

Great knives all around. One of the top makers in the Production category. Sharp blade as you can keep them, and with a secure lock.

I wouldn't baton one, or for real serrious prying (get a Prybaby for that).

I have 6 WH folders and they are all just about perfect. They are light, strong, made with the best materials and the fit and finish is impeccable. My newest has the ZDP-189 wave damascus and is really stunning and sharp as they come.

I am looking to purchase a William Henry knife and have some questions on the functionality of some of them. I would like to use this as a daily carry and wanted to know:

Does the damascus steel add anything to the functionality or is this for appearance only? I like the looks of the damascus, but the Titan model does not have this. Is this more of a functional knife than say the Attache?

The tungsten DLC coating is said to be bonded at the molecular level and will not tarnish, chip or scratch during normal use of the blade. Is there some use that will remove the coating? Does it look the same after normal usage, or is it only for cosmetic purposes?

Thank you in advance for your feedback.

I have a WHK and it is a fantastic GENT folder. Sharp, light and great looking. I wouldn't use it as a heavy duty knife but it has it's place in this world

The damascus is basically for appearance, as the ZDP core is the same in both blade make ups.

Tungsten DLC is very hard, but scraping the knife in sandy, rocky enrvironments will scratch the coating. Cutting sandpaper, as an example. The black shiny material holds up very well to daily use, but daily HARD use, vis a vis Cliff Stamp/Knifetester/Vivi/STR/Possum with result in scratches that will minimize the nice, clean, shiny appearance. The coating is for a bit more than simply cosmetic appearances.

Best Regards,

Just got a William Henry small Legacy folder with the tungsten coating...Now my all time favorite knife...Perfect for my work environment. Best knife I have ever owned.

I have an older small T09 Kestrel with a liner lock and 154CM blade.

I really can't add too much to what has already been said.

William Henry makes great small gentelmen's folders.
