After clearing out my loft I have come across a knife stamped with I cut my way, William Rodgers, Sheffield, England stamped horizontally about halfway down the blade. The blade is about 5.5 inches, and the handle about 3.75 inches, and made of wood with what appear to be three studs holding the two wooden sides to the blade. This is in what I assume is the original sheath, a light browny colour with a knobby button and strap on it. My interest piqued by finding this in my loft, I looked online for details as to how old it might be, and although I could find many knives by Rodgers, I could find none that resembled this one, the shape of the blade nor the orientation of the stamp, which has a strange deformed chess pawn type symbol on it too.
I am assuming that the knife is not too old as it is in good condition, but would appreciate any experienced comments to help my inquisitive mind!
