I have a William Scagel knife in original leather sheath. It is an Ambercromie and Fitch Model. Do I clean it or not? Do I just leave it as is? I don't want to do anything detrimental to it. It was found in an older tackle box. Are there any reliable, knowledgeable and honest businesses I could take it to, have it looked at ( or cleaned if recommended) ? I am in Ohio. This is my first post I hope I have followed directions. Thank you in advance.

use imgur and post up some pictures here. that would be a good start. But other than to wipe off crud with a clean rag I would not clean or polish in any way.

I am trying to figure out how to up load photos. Still looking though the site. Thank you for your response.

Don't do anything to it other than oil the blade. Cleaning or polishing can devalue a knife like this by a considerable amount.
Don't respond to any offers to buy it, there are vultures who are probably licking their chops right now hoping to buy it from you for pennies on the dollar so they can sell it for $$$$$$$$$$$.
Don't take it to anyone who says they can "fix it up" for you. Its potentially quite valuable. Find out exactly what it is. There are people who know a lot about Scagel and his knives. Search them out. Google is your friend, look up Scagel and take a look at other knives made by him.
Post pictures......Use Imgur. Create an account, upload pics (good clear high resolution pics, no flash, show the entire knife and sheath, both sides, and close ups of any markings on the blade), copy the BBCode link to the pics and post the link here.
