Willow Slide Whistle

Anyone ever make one of these?

My grandpa used to make those and popguns outta willow, he used to wait until the new growth started in the spring and cut off a smooth branch make a few slices tap the bark and sing a little song after a while hed twist make a few more cuts and there you'd be a slide whistle or a pop gun.

That's neat. We used to have willows on our little patch out in the woods, but there may be different kinds of willows. I never tried to make a whistle like that, but old crafts need to be preserved.
