First glance: Tuff knife. Tight lockup/smooth action, Imagine it to be a fine soldier of a knife. The blade is very stout, keeping its' .200" thickness out to about 3/4" before the end of the blade. The texture of the G-10 scales is very agressive. Washers are teflon, liners are ferrous, not Ti. Came with a soft case and WT skull lanyard.

F+F looks very good so far.
inertia open: yes
weight: 8.5 oz.
liner thick: .065"
cost from WC: $249.95
steel: NC690
ergos:
sharpness:

Regards, TCR

I like the knife but the thin liner could be a problem like the emersons, its made from steel though so it might last a little longer.

It only looks thin compared to that THICK blade (.200)! .065 is decently thick for a stainless steel locking liner, especially when you consider that the Kershaw JYD II's locking liner is only .010-.015 thicker, and it's considered overly stout! Heck, Spyderco's Military's locking liner is only .050 thick, and it functions flawlessly!

Wow! that is quite thick, picture does not do it justice then. Guess I should have payed more attention to the numbers :foot:

Now put that sucker to use I want to know how she does :D

Some shots of the jimping, even have it on top of the guard, and yes shots of the blade by the way!

The indent of the clip sits right against the slab////???

A real good gripper in the hand, and next to a Rukus for comparisons.

Good looking knife, and those steel liners should wear very well with little movement after setting up in their sweet spot. My first thoughts were, "the liner is too thin." Bot as 3G stated, look at it in relation to that very thick blade (.200"), and no wonder it looks thin! I agree that for a steel liner to be .065" that that liner should be more than adequate to hold that blade open, provided the lock interface has been correctly cut, and I imagine that it has been. Thanks for the specs. and pics Carbide!!:D:D:thumbup:

I bought the small version also, after getting the large. Yes I like them that much.

TCR: one thing I noticed when the subject of the locking liner came up is that there is a small "nipple" on the inner surface of the liner and it falls into a groove on the base of the blade and acts to 'snap' the liner into place. This seems to make the liner even more secure against the base of the blade. Also the same nipple falls into a small indent when the blade is closed.

What is the blade steel?

I figured so. I have a Fox made Ontario Hossom folder in the same steel.

I read about this steel a few times here on BF some said "it takes a very sharp edge" I know it is quality steel with a good HT from Fox in the case of this knife but I'm still trying to figure this out.

So when will your DSO be arriving Charlie Mike? your efforts to resist are futile. :D

It would need to be P/E.... Still, I'd be forced to have it modded to a framelock. That just wouldn't be worth it to me.

Hmmm, I just think you are missing out on a vast amount of good knives at reasonable prices if you limit yourself to framelocks. The Walker lock is absolutely reliable if done right. Are you jaded, or why do you insist on a framelock? You have the Ret 2, and that's a walker lock. Is it something to do with the Wilson in particular? just asking. ;)

RE plain edges: severely tempted to regrind this knife to PE, would only be missing about 2.5mm of the blade width when done.
