Here is a new model, Diablochete! This beast has an 11" long blade of 3/16" thick O1 steel, with a high flat grind. Designed to bridge that gap between light chopper and short machete, Diablochete is ready to work!
It has a sculpted stainless steel guard, ergonomic micarta handle, and stainless steel buttplate and hardware.
This one is finished in black GunKote, for corrosion protection and style. One of the unique points about this model is that it is capable of being disassembled (by professionals, of course
) so that the whole assembly can be recoated/refinished after it takes a beating in the field. Not quite a takedown unit, but close, while still able to work hard.
It also features the M.O.A. System, a hybrid kydex/leather pouch containing a tin for supplies, and a small PSK knife in a slip sheath behind the pouch. Big knife and small knife tasks are covered. The pouch and PSK knife are also removable, as the system is modular. So you can mix and match the components to suit your requirements on the trip.
The hand stitched leather sheath features a drop leg swivel that can be attached to your belt without removing any gear. This also allows you to sit/kneel in the field and not get poked in the ribs. This one also came with a Wilson B.U.S.H. Steel ferro rod and S.A.F.E. Compass, to cover emergency navigation and firestarting.
The retention strap is also configurable, and can be moved from one side of the sheath to the other, depending on preference. Very pleased with this model, and have plans for other options.
Thanks for looking!
