Hello everyone, I haven't done one of these in awhile and thought I'd post pics. This is the LIT Knife, Lightweight Incendiary, Tinder. It is a hollow handle survival puukko (obviously
).
These have a carbon steel blade (O1 in this case), hollow ground on a larger wheel. Brass ferrule, and green canvas micarta handle and red spacers with aluminum handle tube, to keep weight down.
These are ground to slice, not split steel cables, so they are keen cutters. The micarta has an ovoid shape, so it feels very similar to a traditional knife. The ferro rod is installed in the buttcap so you always have a source of ignition, and there is just enough room in the hollow handle for some tinder.
The sheath is somewhat traditionally made, with wooden liner and back sewn leather. A very practical and utilitarian package that works.
Thanks for looking!
Sam
