Here is one of my favorite models to make. It has a couple of interesting challenges, but that makes it all the more satisfying when it's done. This is the M9 Survival Fighter, part of the M.O.A. Family of knives (Make it Out Alive).

This model sports an 8" blade in 1/4" thick 440C stainless steel (CPM154 is optional), and a two-tone satin/blasted finish. The blasted portion of the blade and the guard/handle/buttcap are coated in clear GunKote, for additional corrosion resistance and protection. It has functional sawteeth on a full flat grind. Clip is sharpened at your option.

It has a fully radiused asymmetrical guard, for comfort during use, even when choking up on the blade. There is approximately 20' of cord on the knurled stainless handle, should you ever need to use it for emergency purposes.

The aluminum buttcap is steel plated, so you get the benefits of lightweight aluminum, and the durability of steel should you need to hammer with it. The ferro rod threads into the buttcap for secure purchase when you strike it, and the usual divot for bow drill fires is machined in to the buttcap as well.

The pouch houses a small tin for additional supplies, and the PSK knife is located behind the pouch. It is held in place by a nice friction fit, and the shock cord adds to the security. Like the blasted portion of the primary knife, the blasted PSK knife is coated in clear GunKote. It is stainless, but this adds to the corrosion resistance of the knife.

Thank you, Dudley! I always appreciate the support. Customs & Handmade may not be what it used to be, but these threads certainly help with search engines, well worth the cost of membership!:):):thumbsup:

Do you have any plans to expand the steels you use? Thanks!
