just bought a wilson startac has any one else experienced hard time opening this knife one handed?
 
There are Sebs and Umnumzaans with the Startac pattern by Wilson. To which are you referring?
 
NO problem with either of mine.

No offense intended but are you sure that you're not squeezing the lock bar with your finger tips while you try to open it? if you are the extra pressure on the detent will make it a bear to open.
If not, you may need to adjust your pivot a little to get the tension that you desire, don't forget the loc tite when you put it back together or you "may" have a loose pivot.
After some time it'll break in a little and will feel smoother and easier to work with, give it a little time.

If for some reason you find that its none of these things give CRK a call and talk to them about it, they'll take care of you.
 
CRK includes a paper in their boxes now that shows proper opening procedure, check that paper out.

The opening action is different than a Seb. You need up put your thumb under the thumbstud and push upwards and then once you get past the pivot you arch back.

Also, like the others have said, make sure you aren't pushing on the lockbar as you open or close it.
 
What Steel_Addiction said. Plus, the knife needs a little time and use to get broken in. Just invest in some hand (read "thumb") lotion if you callus easily ;)
