Wilton 344 Power Arm Disassembly?

Last weekend, I scored a rusty Wilton 344 Power Arm for two bucks.

I immediately took my prize into the shop and soaked in Kroil for many days. Now everything moves freely EXCEPT the locking collar (the part which the handle threads into).

The part appears frozen/rusted in place. I am wondering if this collar is threaded or a slip fit? Anyone have one like it or used one before- how does it come apart???

Any schematics or additional information appreciated...

I honestly have no idea on your question, but I just had to post that you suck to get such a deal! :p

The work positioners like that I've seen have always been selling for $150+

Nice score! :)

Thanks, I was thrilled with the price. Nearly 200 for a new one according to my google search for disassembly clues. It actually cleaned up well- plenty of that old hard battleship grey paint left as the rust was superficial for the most part...

But it ain't worth a damn if the lock collar won't budge! Nice paperweight?

I chucked in my lathe and beat on it a while to no avail. I unscrewed the handle and peered into the hole as best I could- saw alot of rust in there but couldn't discern whether it's screw threaded or otherwise...

Another week of soaking in Kroil and transmission fuel, I guess? Any clues welcome.

Patience. More soaking. Maybe weeks and weeks. Try B'laster, best rerustifier I have ever used, available at NAPA dealers.
