I just inhereted a wilton square wheel from a friend. What do i need to know about running one? there is no manual i have figured out how to change belts and adjust tracking what other info do i need thanks.......Erik

You should box it up and send it to me immediately!!
Those things have been known to attack people, even bite your fingers and spit knife blades back in your face.
Oh yeah, never hit that little red button on top of the motor while it's running!
That's a self destruct switch and if you do, BLAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMOOOOOOOOO!

TACM, I have the same machine, which is probably the most simple machine made. Wilton will probably send you a book if you request one.

The shiney red button? The Jolly candy like button?

I thought that was the history eraser button.

... I thought I was the last real Ren and Stimpy fan!

Oh, yeah... about the square wheel.

Either get a slow-down pulley from Koval Knives or TruGrit (mine's from TruGrit, but both companies are great to deal with), or save up and get a variable speed motor. The stock motor and drive wheel are WAYYYYYYY too fast to do any real precise stuff (although there's sure to be someone out there to prove me wrong).

Check out Ed Caffrey's page to see some hot rod mods:

The machine can't be any easier to use.

Here's Wilton's site, and there's a link on it to download the manual in pdf format:

Dig it, man! Get making some dust!

I have had my Wilton for twenty years and use it everyday. It is the best tool I own.I am a sculptor and use it rough out whale bone and ivory carvings.
Did you get any attachments?

I bought my Wilton in 1982 and it's still going strong, it's not near as smooth and queit as my B3s but it'll get-R-done :)
