Hi everyone!
Just finshed up the page on how I "tricked out" my square wheel. You can get there by visiting www.caffreyknives.com and then clicking on the "Articles" link. Or for those who are in a hurry................ http://www.mtn-webtech.com/~caffrey/wilton.htm

I know we have had a few questions on the Square wheel in the recent past, hopefully this will help some folks out. If you have a wilton, and are willing to share your "improvements", let me know and I'd be happy to add them to the page, and give the credit where it's due. Take Care!

Ed, thanks for those ideas. They answer some of my long suffering problems.

On the contribution side, I have noticed that cussing seems to help. It doesn't do anything for the grinder of course, but it helps me.

Ed,
That's some great infomation on your Square Wheel web page.I really appreciate it.It's the only grinder I have except for a Sears 6x48.I love the Square Wheel for its ease of changing set-ups. Since I do mainly flat grinding on the platen any modifications to make it better are very helpful. I'll E-mail you some of mine when I get the chance.

Ed,
Nice pictures.

You may have mentioned it and I missed it. The small wheels on the platen are tightened on a cam. This allows you to rotate the wheels out, if you add pieces to the face of it.

I have a plastic handled T wrench permanently attached to the socket head tracking screw. Beats looking for a wrench.

Koval's sell a larger work table, that is adjustable. You can also build one fairly easy.

Hi Ed,

thanks for taking the time to share all that great information. I've been meaning to sit down and try and solve exactly the flat grinding problems you've already solved for me.

Many thanks!

Hey Ed,
Purchased a square wheel a week ago, "great machine". Can't believe the difference over my old two wheel, which i recently burned up. Anyway, thanks for taking the time to post the pictures. They will be a great help when I start modifying mine.
