Guess what is very different about this kukri from a standard model and you will win one. First correct posting gets a knife....don't get all excited, it won't be up to everyone's high standards, but it will be a kukri from this box.

Ok. The handle is synthetic? I know probably not even close but I had to try:D

WINNER! Mike, you're right. It is 6" long.

Good grief, that was fast. Next time the question will be more esoteric and the prize knife even worse!

Please email me directly with your address and I will ship off your prize.

Yes! :D

I saw a couple of small kukris at Blade Show West. One collector displayed a kukri about one inch long.

John,

Do we know what the minature khukuries would have been used for? Would they have been maker's models (e.g. I take one like this but I want it THAT BIG); or perhaps, children's toys, articles of wear, some kind of collectibles, A statuary accessory, maybe even an inventory device?

As for winning one... I have had some of those already. :o You really need to handle one of these to appreciate HI knives. You have alot of experience wrap up in that box.

Swede,
You are going to get along great in this Cantina!:D
Hope to meet you at a future Konvention & introduce you to
a friend of mine named Gunting!:DI will personally see that you work closely with Mr. Gunting! hee!
jim

..come to the next Khonvention,
Swede, and don't worry about Tsimi's Gunting - I will bring my ancient, viscious Labrador. She has a Black Pelt, in Tai Kwan Doberman - Tsimi is no match. If he actually uses the Gunting, she will inflict the Din Mak Death Slobber, and slippery him out the door

Sounds great Walosi, I love dogs. They generally give me away when hiding, though, those pesky wagging tails...:D

As far as I can tell the miniatures were used as 'favors' at certain Regimental Mess ceremonies, or as 'sweetheart pins' and probably like the one that opened this thread as a trinket or oddity to show a kamis skill. Numbers 3 and 5 are Victorian era pieces including English silver proof marks! #5 is solid gold and according to my anthropologic jewelers has a very rare rosegold technique on the grip. These were all made in the UK between 1860-1875. I think the others were made in India or Nepal and #4 being the most important as it was a gift from Yangdu and Bill.

#1 is 6.5" overall

Here's a better picture of the little gold one. It is a very pretty little thing.
