Hey guys,

I have been giving thought to trying to accumulate one of every date stamp if not every version of 110, knowing full well the rare oldes versions will be out of my price range until I hit the powerbal. I've had good sucess picking up some older models at low prices:D. I saw this 1988 the other day and the pics were pretty good and honestly showed the dings on the bolsters but I figgered they could get buffed out at the Buck spa. The wood is mint. What the pics didnt really show is that the tip was about 3/16" short and was re-pointed. Oh well, It'll either be a handsome user or a candidate for a premium blade change and maybe some filework to become a beauty. Anyway, here it is.

Thanks for lookin:)

The pits in the brass are quite deep and it would take a lot to get them out. The blade looks like it is in okay shape just a bit short. I do like the NS one in the picture, a lot.

Thanks edbeau

I like that N/S also-thanks Plum:thumbup:

I gotta couple 110's at Buck right now with pits about as bad in places. Joe has looked at em and says nothing too scary so we'll see how they turn out. And i figger if they won't, some talented customerizer or engraver could make em look purdy with a damascus blade change:thumbup: When I can set aside some cash to undertake a job like that:(

I have a 110 with brass that looks like that. On mine, the dings on the rear bolster on the lock release side are a clear indication that the knife was used as a hammer. Still, the knife is a good user after I sent in to Buck for refurbishing. Some of the dings are still there: battle scars = character building. :D

Noticed with the short blade that the tip is above the liner just enough to catch my finger when I'm fondling it it my pocket. Gonna need a blade change.

I have an old, no dot or date stamp 112 that is suffering from bladeshortinitus also. The tip of it's blade is above the liner when closed like yours. I found it in a box of tools when we cleaned out my deceased Father in Laws garage. I've never done anything with it, but I'm going to throw it in to the box with all my corroded Bucklocks to be rebladed when I send them to Buck this week.

If I remember correctly, Buck wont premium upgrade a reblade though. Like for example, I'd love to put a satin s30v on this and have the bolsters cleaned up and she'd be top notch. I dont remember what the reasoning is but I wonder why. It seems like they would have them available, and watching the repair part of the buck dvd, seems like it wouldnt matter much which blade was used.

They probably won't do an upgrade, but I don't really care. Other than the short blade, the knife isn't in bad shape. I'd just never sent it in before because it just didn't seem to be worth the effort and expense. Now that I'm sending the Bucklocks in, I'll just pack the 112 in with them.

It doesn't have any sentimental value to me. The guy was my wife's biological father, not her "real" Daddy, and the old coot and I never did like each other. ;)
