Windows picture and fax viewer is storing every image from every site I visit and I think the accumulation is slowing my system.
Anyone know of a simple way around having to clear out these temp internet files? They add up to the tune of 10's of thousands per hour!!
Most of the fixes I found on help forums involved registry manipulation, which I'd prefer to leave as a last resort, if possible.

Thanks in advance for any and all help!

Reducing the size of your temp internet directory doesn't work?

Tools/Internet Options/Temporary Internet Files/Settings

If that doesn't work, I'd think it was another program besides IE that's responsible. Maybe even a virus type program.

i use this free program: http://www.ccleaner.com/ccdownload.asp

if you have broadband then change your internet settings.

tools>internet options>settings button under temp internet settings>change the selected dot to "every visit to page">and changed the stored files to something like 5mb

that should help.
