Winamp skins

For those of you who have put pics of balisongs on the internet (clay, chuck, susan, pics posted on this forum, and those who have pics on other internet sites), may I use those pics to make winamp skins? They will be available to everyone soon (even if I have to just send them to you via e-mail). I will let you know. Thanks.

Winamp is a program that plays mp3 files (music files). You can download it at www.winamp.com, the best way to find music is to download Napster (www.napster.com), this program was made solely for finding mp3's.

Back to the original question, a winamp skin is a picture(s)/design that "covers" the winamp window. It is really easy to understand once you have winamp and have downloaded skins (www.1001winampskins.com is my favorite place, also www.winamp.com)
I have never found any balisong skins so I decided to make a few.

If you guys and gals have any more questions regarding winamp, napster, or skins, just let me know.

Heheh...believe it or not, my part-time job is actually reviewing winamp skins...

I can't wait to see what you come up with!!
 
The pictures that I find best for the skins come from these people (so far): Clay, Chuck, Susan, Lew, and 2d_edge. I am sure that I will find many more and ask that if you have pictures of balisongs out on the internet, that I may use them, they will be available to everyone either on a website or I will e-mail them to whoever wants them. I just need permission to use these pictures so that I don't make anyone mad or break any kind of copyrights. Thanks

When you finish the skin, upload it to Winamp.com ... Then, make sure and let me know, email me the name so that I can find it, I would love to review your skins...

Here are some words of advice...
1) Make sure to skin the whole thing.. the PL/EQ/MB and main...
2) If you skin the AVS, that would help out your rating ALOT...
3) Also, try and make some nice animated cursors.
4) And please, DO NOT cover up the EQ sliders..this renders the EQ usless and detracts from the skin as a whole..

The program that I am currently using won't let me skin the MB, cover up EQ (oh well), and I can't make a cursor. Believe me, once I find a good program I will make some cursors and will (try) to skin the MB. What is the "AVS"? Currently I have made over 20 and will definitely make more.

Well, I hate to be the spoil-sport but it seems to be the mode I'm in tonight.

My concern is for this image of our favorite knives. The balisong already has enough image problems. I'm a bit worried about putting images up on such a public site. One may comment that I put wallpaper images up on my site, and that is true. But, my site is really a specialty for the balisong crowd.

I wasn't thinking of putting them up on a non-balisong related site (sorry Quijebo). A couple of balisong sites have offered to put them up on their sites (which will happen once I get approval to use balisong pictures, the specific names of owners of the balisong pics are mentioned above), and if both of those fall through (they won't) then I will e-mail them to everyone who wants them (zipped of course).

Continuing with my thoughts, if they (winamp skins) are on a balisong site then balisongs won't get any more of a bad image than if someone searched the balisong site that the skins are on. I am not at all interested in worsening the balisong image or making people afraid of it. All I want to do is promote the image in a positive way and extend the reaches of balisongdom.
