I've seen some of these knives in stores and was curious what is the general feeling on them (their performance)? I know they are made in China, so please let's just discuss the knives on their own merits; cutting ability, F&F, edge-holding, resharpenability, how well they hold up, etc. I'm not necessarily planning on buying any, but would simply like to know.

One thing I did not care for on the Gerber ones was they all seemed to have squared bolsters, which I don't care for on pocketknives.

I just got a Small Stockman with a Winchester Badge on it and it's a real nice piece.:thumbup: Fit and finish are great and the blades are tight and well ground (Sharp). I paid $11.00 or $12.00 bucks for it at a little hardware store in Memphis MI. I have it in my daily pocket knife rotation... I can't say anything about the Gerbers though...

I have one Gerber, one of their lockback stockmans, the fit and finish is pretty good, not fabulous but good. Sharpest factory edge I have ever seen, wicked sharp out of the box. Its not seen much use so I can't say for edge holding.

My thoughts and initial review of it are here;

I had a horable experience with mine. I got a set of a few from them. In a few weeks I was already taking off a good coating of rust from the inside around the blades.

Thanks for the replies!
Was curious because I've seen these around. Who knows? Someday I may give one or the other a try.
