Winchester Bowies; How Safe Are They?

Of my many bowie knives that I own, not one of them is a Winchester! Some of them may appeal to the eye, but in reality they are cheap and dangerous pieces of crap! If you go on You Tube, there are videos of three different guys, with three different models of Winchester bowies. On two of these videos the handles split and broke! On the third video, a guy was chopping a tree branch with one, and the handle broke off and the blade became airborne! When he inspected the broken knife; in which Winchester claimed it was a full tang, was nothing of the sort! What they did was to spot weld a mini tang inserted inside, near the bottom of the handle, to a square piece of metal inside the upper portion of the handle! So of course, when the guy started chopping, the weld didn't hold and the knife was destroyed! Lucky for him that he or anybody else wasn't hurt! Winchester gets a big fat :thumbdn:!

only have one winchester, just use it for small things like sum light food prep lol not worth the money
