I just started collecting knives and i was wondering about the quality of Winchester knives. Alot of times Winchester knives are sold on websites like Amazon under the gerber brand. I understand that the company is a subsidiary of Gerber, can anyone tell me about the quality of these knives?

Not all Winchesters are created equal, as a new collector keep that in mind.
Winchesters that are contracted from Blue Grass Cutlery made by Queen are VERY good.
Winchesters made in China by Gerber have not impressed me alot.

It's out of the box sharpness wasn't that great, it couldn't push cut through the thinnest hemp strand. It's worse than this sheffield Mfg. knock off of a Ka-Bar.Btw, does anyone know about how Sheffield MFG. has the same models as brandsl ike gerber and Ka-Bar?
