what is to be said about them? are Winchester knives worth the low price? i have one. and its pretty good actually. i was wondering if others have had good/bad experiences and thoughts.
maybe even pictures if you have one!

You will need to give more details. Are you talking about current production or from the past. Post a pic and lets take a look at what you are talking about.

i dont have a photobucket account or anything, but its a modern "tactical" style one. its not slipjoint. its a liner lock. aluminum handles, combo edge.
but its modern

Some Of Their Older And Traditional Style Knives Are Actually Okay.
But I Would Just Go The $4 More And Get A CRKT Drifter... An EXCELLENT Knife For The Usual $15ish They Go For.

alot of winchester knives ive seen and played around with sucked, but this one is just different to me. its got a nice heft to it, and no bladeplay. plus, it lasts (edge) for quite a long time. its big, but not threatening. the only thing i have to really complain about is the clip. the clip wiggled. but i took it off, and superglued the cavity it sat in. it doesnt screw to the handle, it sits in a cavity and then the pivot pin holds it tight. well it wasnt tight enough. but it was an easy fix. i know theres already been alot of posts on here about the potential of cheap china knives, and i have a great example

Oh No.
You Put Super Glue By The Pivot Pin?
That's Not Good At All.

Not Only Did You Fix Your Clip You May Have Just Made You Pivot Pin A Permanent Fixture.

I Have 2 Good Knives To Recommend You.
Both Are Cheap And Both Are China Made.

1.) CRKT Drifter - For Around $15 Bucks You Can Get A G-10 Liner Lock Or A Full Stainless Frame Lock. Both Are Good. It's A Good Solid Knife Especially At It's Price Point.
2.) Kershaw Scamp - $20. A Stainless/G-10 Frame Lock. Comes Super Sharp And Gets Super Sharp. It's An EXCELLENT Knife. I Loved It When I Had It.

i would stay far away from modern Winchester stuff based on what I've seen.

Unless you like catastrophic lock failure after cutting a piece of cardboard.

As a general rule, gun companies dont make knives. They contract them out.

Some, like winchester and browning will contract them out to some noname chinese factory. Smith and wesson sold their name to Taylor cutlery which produces from taiwan. So just because they have good reputation as a gun company doesnt mean their knives are any good. HK is an exception, as they contract out to BM

Just so you know what you are getting into

Btw I have a winchester lockback that is more traditional looking, and it is built just fine but wont hold an edge. I would trust their traditional knives more than the tactical looking ones

Well I have an old stockman slip joint i got about 10 years ago and it was made by gerber so its a pretty decent knife for the money

Hogue is another that makes nice high quality stuff, but those are really the only two (H&K and Hogue)

Does it look like this. This is not a bad knife for what you pay for it. My Kershaw Crown was $4.00 cheaper and much sharper. The Kershaw was only $10.00 at Walley World.

no. actually. it doesnt look anything like that.
and about the pivot pin..
where i put the glue was nowhere near the actual pin itself. this knife only has 1 screw and a pin for the scre to go into. like a long nut.
the clip was recessed into the handle
i put the glue on the recess. after i applied the glue, i took it all apart again to check that the glue didnt squish out. and it didnt. it worked!
idk though. i think ill stick to carrying my VIC super tinker....
