Hello Everyone. I am new to the forum so hopefully this question is posted in the correct forum.

I just bought a Winchester knife with model "1052" on the back of the blade. The front says Winchester / Trade Mark / Made in USA. It's a 5 1/4 closed and about 9 1/2 open single blade hunter type knife. Looks sort of like a coke bottle hunter but has glittery handles. The seller claims the knife is very old. I haven't been able to find anything out about it on the web so I thought I would ask here if anyone has heard of a model # 1052?

Thanks for any help.

Hi Senrico, the old winchesters can be identified by the tang stamp numbers. the first number indicates the number of blades, the second number indicates the type of scales in your case the number 0 indicates celluoid and the third and forth numbers indicate the factory pattern of the knife. So you have a 1052. That is a 1 blade celluoid handle pattern 52 winchester. the old winchesters were produced from 1919 till 1942. I have been collecting them for 20+ years and have around 150 of them and love every one and still looking for more. hope this helps Jim

It's interesting though that in the books I have I don't see a model 1052 but it may not be a comprehensive list.

Does anyone know of a book that has all of the old Winchester model #s or if Winchester made a model 1052?

I am going to try and figure out how to post some picutres.

Thanks in advance for any info!
