I found a couple USA made Winchesters at the shop in town and am going to go back and look at them agian next week. Can someone point me to a resource or two as to markings, materials, etc, so I know what Im up against? Thanks.

Are they old, or later reproductions? Big difference. Can you snap a couple of pictures?

Im not sure. I dont know a whole lot about older slippies. They were stamped Winchester and USA. Pretty much any slippie made in the USA in decent shape is worth at least $15-20 I figure.

In that case they aren't the older vintage Winchester's (1920 to 1940) as you'd be dropping several times that amount on any given knife in good condition.

Here's a link you can look at for various patterns built under license by Blue Grass Cutlery. These knives date from the late 80's forward. (Click on "Winchester" on the left side of the screen.)

I have a couple of the Bluegrass Winchesters, VERY well made knives, mine are in 1095.

Are they? Can you tell by looking? I'd sure like to know.

Sometimes you can tell. The last time I knew Bluegrass cutlery was a supplier to knife retailers. I did not know they made knives, and I think that they don't. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I just remember hearing Winchesters were Queen made like some of the Cases.

I've heard that they were made by Queen. I have a moose that is marked 88 1/2, and I believe that model, at least, was made by Queen.
