if so,what should i be satisfied paying for either?
i like the slimline the best, but may not be as rare?

JD, I belive the series you show has delrin handles instead of the bone, thus should be less cost. Still good knives, just not quite as valuable as the bone handle ones. I would think the easy open slimline would be the more rare, but I'm certainly an amateur on Winchesters. Maybe Dennis or "waynorth" can enlighten you (and me) on this particular series.

As far as the bone handled knives go, this thread has probably pretty completely diplayed the series; making it a good reference. When Dennis decides to collect something, he is pretty thorough. :D He's got a wonderful collection of these "black box" Winchesters.

thanks ed,i agree with dennis collection...i really like the
slim trapper better but i don't know what should be a decent
price to pay.
i am un-decided now because of the handle issue...i really like
bone better if i am gonna spend very much on an older knife.
i found the slim for less than 50.00 but don't know what i
should pay?
i may should just keep looking for a better price.
i wonder what these knives in thread are going for?
any idea what these are being bought for?
there some nice ones here for sure,
jd

We get it, jd...you don't know what the value of the knife may be. Perhaps one of our members may be able to contact you with info. Otherwise you may wish to ask the question in BRL's forum. Barring that, you'll need to do some research via google, dealers and the auction sites to make a determination for yourself. But please, let's not continue with this line of inquiry here.
