I got this Windlass India rapier from my brother years ago. He told me it was antique, but I have no idea, and he passed away a few years ago so I can't ask him where he got it.
I broke it down and found a capital 'J' on one side of the tang and a '918' on the opposite side. "Windlass INDIA" is printed on the ricasso. The rapier has a bone grip with an engraved wire wrap, possibly silver. Sorry, I don't know how to post images to the thread... I did find the same rapier here: https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/windlass-steelcraft-model-rapier-2001592127
Can anyone point me toward a resource where I might find info on discontinued Windlass India rapiers, or know anything about Windlass markings? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Technically your brother would be correct that sword may well be pushing 30 years old at this point. You might check with Museum Replicas Limited most of their stuff is made by Windlass these days. This might have been one of theirs from early on when they were just getting out of the Del Tin business. I don't know if they kept records of not. Alternatively you might find it in one of their older catalogs.

Welcome aboard

You might try at the Sword Buyers Guide forum or SBG facebook group. Also the original All Swords on facebook.

Bruce Brookhart is still around and had built a lot of the Museum Replicas rapiers, back with Hank Reinhardt. Currently working with Clyde Hollis, of Kingdom of Arms. He would know all the backstory to be had. I don't have a contact for him.

Hal Seigel Therion Arms, has marketed or handled most from the 1990s.

Stuff got mixed and matched. Still does. The basket and pommel are very familiar. I would try the SBG forum first, in the milly/renny section. Shout out at Hal on Therion, or fb. Brookheart got fed up with SBG but both he and Clyde (another who'd likely know it) are signed up there.

There is also the old Hank Collection archive but I don't see it there. Nice browsing old stuff though.

Here is an oddball from them. They often had special runs. This was supposedly from a movie batch. The off hand a broken smallsword blade, farm knob and grenadier grip :D

It seems to me there was a serious Windlass rapier guy here back in the early century here. Oh yeah, Ken Cook. If you search "Windlass and rapier" this forum, you'll see his thoughts from the old threads.

The silver is nickel silver, not actual silver. It uses the same blade as most of the Windlass rapiers. Likely 90s production sold in the Museum Replicas catalog. Decent functional entry level sword, should flex and return to true.
