I am looking for a historical dagger for a presant for someone that is to history. While the knife will probably not be used, I want something with good steel that can be sharpened and is a real knife, not junk. Granted it doesnt have to be the best in the world, but good steel is a must. I found this on line but know nothing about it. Any know about the windlass soldiers dagger?

Any other recommendations?

a fairbairn and sykes WWII dagger, any world war two knife, maby a K bar, you are very vague be more specific

Providing a link to what you are talking about would be the first thing you should do if you want advice.

If you are talking about Windlass India I would say no. Every sword of theirs I have held had some sort of wiggle between the blade and handle.

I think for a wall-hanger or reenactor knife, it would suit that purpose.

Windlass has a spotty reputation, sometimes good, sometimes bad. Personally, I'd like to hold it before buying -especially since it will be for a present.

Thanks, that is what I was looking for.
