Window-Punch on Sebenzas as well?

I've been carrying an Umnumzaan for a couple months or so now, and while it's a great knife, I still find it hard leaving my Sm. Seb at home. I guess old habits are pretty hard to break. This past Sunday(May 16), I came upon a car crash on the highway ,and, being a firefighter, I helped out until and when Fire/EMS arrived. I even ended up using the window punch on my Umnum to take out a couple windows before the crews started extrication, as none of the responding volunteers had a punch on them(still on rig). Anyways, while on my way home, I got to thinking what a great tool this little tip is on the knife and feel it would be a great addition to the Sebenzas as well. In truth, when at work, I opt for a spring-loaded window punch over my Umnum(why wouldn't you use a better tool if you have access to one, right?). But to have this on your person without having to carry any additional tools makes total sense in my mind.
Would anyone else like to see the window punch offered on Sebs?

There was a comparison video where someone showed that the end of the Sebenza doesn't perform poorly when used to break glass. It probably isn't as well as the purposed designed Umnumzaan's, but it will work.

I think I saw that video as well, but didn't think it was tempered glass like that in a car. I might be thinking of a different video, though.

True.

You could also simply carry one of those keychain window punches on your keychain.

Do you by chance have the link to this video?

I would like to point out that it appears the Sebenza merely broke the glass rather then shattering it. Notice the first video for reference and how it compares to the Umnumzaan and Sebenza. The Umnumzaan's point helps actually shatter the glass while the Sebenza doesn't. IMO of course.

Personally, I like the idea of a punch especially when it is done discretely like on the Umnumzaan. Some scoff this as a gimmick, but I think the way it was done does not distract from the aesthetics of the knife...others may disagree.

My point is that it might be a bad idea to put this as a standard feature on the Sebenza considering that some guys dislike the idea.

That said, offering it as an option would be neat. I forget where I saw it, but someone fabricated a back spacer with an integrated window breaker for a Sebenza that seemed pretty well thought out...

Thanks for the quick post of the videos. Saw the one where they were wearing shorts...hah

I wonder how well the Sebenza would do on tempered glass...

I do too, though I wouldn't expect it to perform as well as the Umnumzaan.

From what I've read elsewhere it's about putting a moderate amount of force into a very small area. I tried out my Umnumzaan and it worked very well without a lot of force. Due to how the construction of the Sebenza is I would expect it to take a good deal more force.

PiterM had some of those backspacers.
I saw them on Usn.

Don't know if there were glassbreakers on it but that could be done easely.
I mean something little like the spyderco rescue on the 1st youtube vid and just like the microtech knives have.

I think the idea of a glass punch on the sebenza would be great. It could be a unique version like the insingo.....or just put it on an insingo since it already has the safe sheepsfoot blade. It might be known as the "insindiso" Zulu for rescue.

On a side note: Does anyone realize that none of those glassbreaking vids is done on a real car door or any realistic media that would give different results. In the first vid they had trouble because the window flexed more than it would in a real car door.

Agreed.
I was nervous about having a glass breaker on the knife, not having seen it in person, but they really pulled it off nicely.
