The windows protection suite has invaided my computer and I am having a problem getting it out, I have malwarebytes anti-malware but its not working. Anyone have a suggestion on the best way to remove it?

Remove windows. Only sure way of getting rid of the problems. :)

What is this protection suite? Is it a Microsoft product?

Its a fake program that tells you your computer has a large amount of infections and wants you to buy their fake program to fix it. I don't want to remove windows because I have unsaved info that would be lost (pic's and other stuff).

Try removing it under Add/Remove programs?

i sent jason a link to a program that seems to be getting rid of whatever he has. pretty soon we'll know if it worked or not when it gets done running.

Ok. Don't worry about it. All it does is install "infected" files. Its harmless files the software downloads. Then it tells you you have all these viruses and asks you to buy their software. You pay, it deletes them and your computers "safe" again. Search the internet for the programs name and it will most likely tell you how to remove it. your computers fine.

Sorry but that is a really bad idea, if you do that you only make it worse. Google search it and find out why.

Richard j just saved my a$$ and I can't thank him enough. The link he gave me cleaned out the problem and everything seems to be back to normal. Thankyou Richard :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Anyone know why I would be unable to search? I go to yahoo or google and if I try and do a search I either get a server error or it just does nothing.

Try clearing your Cache.

If you are still using IE, stop and get Firefox.

If you still have any problems with the fake antivirus crap/scam, and are using XP, I know a solution.

I'm not sure what's going on, the program richard gave me cleaned out the problem but now when I try and do a search it just goes to a blank screen or gives me a HTTP server error.
