Well, I hate microsoft more with each day. Updated Windows XP yesterday with the newest Defender Definitions and a XP security update. Upon rebooting, I find I have an error called "RTHDCPL.EXE - Illegal System DLL Relocation." Appearently the user32.dll was relocated because hhctrl.ocx in the win/system32 directory occupied the address. Now, I don't even remember the number of this particular update, so I can't just go uninstall it and I don't have system restore active.

Has anybody had this problem before? It is a security issue? Any advice? :barf:

I don't have the issue but you could find out the update number by going to Control Panel - Add & Remove Programs. It will show the updates installed & the date. HTH

Yes it does, thanks! Found a hotfix on microsoft. Appearently its a compatability issue with some Realtek audio drivers, blah...microsoft...
