I recently acquired a huge bowie knife made by Wingen. After cleaning the brass on the end of the knife, I noticed the butt is a little loose. I doubt it came fron wingen that way , the leaher & brass spacers probably loosen up due to shrinkage from the leather spacers. That being said does anyone know how I can retighten eveything up. In the center of the butt it has a circular cap about 5/8 in. in diameter which is flush at the end where Iam sure there is some sort of tightening device underneath......How do I get it out??????
