Could some one give me a quick education on these knife's?
I understand the factory closed down in 1991-1996?
What are the 1980's 1990's knife's worth? Are they considered a "good knife" ? I noticed some have a hilt like my 1977 AG Russell Sting.
Was it made by Wingen?
Were they all forged 440?
Thanks!

I wish someone could or would answer your questions as I am interested in this brand of knife. I have two of them and I am far from a knife expert, but I think they are a good knife for the money.

My rostfrei is a Haller blade that my son got in Germany, I also would appreciate any insight and info. Thanks

Hi,
I also do not no very much about this manufactures, it seems to be right that Anton Wingen (Othello), Solingen closed sometimes in the 1990s. They are well known for forged stainless steel boot knifes and related stuff I think. More traditional patterns.

Haller is a company that mostly imports knives from Asia and sells them under their own brand I think. The Haller knives I have seen and handled were more poor quality, e.g. blades of 440a and cheap handles and sheaths.

Its my understanding Wingen made the Sting for AG Russel.
I have seen a few similar knife's built like my sting
which I really like. A boot knife, and hunting knifes.
Both are priced less than "Stings" and seem to be of the same quality.
Think I will pick one up. The hilt is the giveaway.
Thanks for the response's.

Yes, Anton Wingen closed in the mid 90's, very high quality knives. A.G. Russell used them for the Stings, his really nice kitchen line, and a few other knives.

A.G.'s knives bring very good money on the secondary market. Wingen made very solid knives that bring between $50-100 for most models. I've seen some new in box models on Ebay, but I'm not sure if they're old stock, or put together "parts" knives.
