Winkler Belt Knife II Sheath Questions

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone here uses aftermarket sheaths for their Winkler Belt Knife? I really like the knife, but find the sheath confusing and hard to use. There doesn't seem to be an easy way to Belt carry it and my sagewood dropleg adapter doesn't fit so I can't use that. Does anyone know if a teklok fits? Also, are there any Belt loops that fit the Kydex adapter plate? Mine came second hand and only came with the strips for molle webbing.

Thanks.

Just call Winkler and get the belt loop piece and hardware you're missing.

It's a super secure and snug setup that lets you tailor the fit to the thickness of your belt and carry vertical or scout style left or right. It's the square leather piece and the hardware isn't in the photo.

I believe I have that but it's got a lot more holes in it. Also, how do you get in on/off your belt but keep the hardware tight? I tried to tighten it on the belt, but found it a bit ridiculous.

Ok in the pictures you can see it's got 4 screws and 4 slotted nuts.

It also comes with a bag of various alloy washers that you fit between the sheath and the backing plate. That lets you find the fit so you can slip the sheath on your belt but it's not going to move.

You set it up tight since it's leather and with a bit of time will stretch and conform to the belt. It's super sold and low profile too so the knife is snugged right up your body so the chances of snagging are minimal.

If yours has more than 4 holes it sounds like the previous owner embarked on some sort of customization that turned out with them selling the knife.

I put on the leather 4 holed belt loop rather than the kydex and enough washers to allow my belt to pass through.

Hope that helps.

Here are some pictures of the parts I received and my solution. After looking through my miscellaneous sheath parts I found an old dangler from my Martin Swinkels Izula sheath that would do what I needed just fine. Gotta love a no cost solution!

you bet. The piece you have with multiple holes is under it snug to the sheath.

I don't think I'd want to use a dangler with the stiff retention that sheath has. You'd for sure need to tie it to your leg.

I bought a battle horse knives sheath #10 (I believe) sheath and wetformed it. Works great.
