Hey guys I am thinking about ordering my first Winkler and have narrowed it down to the Belt Knife and the Hunting Knife. If any of you have owned or handled either of these and could share your opinion on them I would really appreciate it. Pictures of them in the hand would be great also. I have seen a few reviews on the Belt Knife but nothing on the Hunting Knife yet.

Thank You

Seems like the only difference is size. I have a belt knife and have never found it to be too large, it's size to me in the hand and when carried seems perfect I"m 5'10" and 180 so pretty average size.

Smaller could be better if you want to carry it scout style and have room for other stuff.

The quality and feel is flat out awesome. You won't be disappointed which ever one you chose. Make sure to update this thread once you've got one and have used it.

I got a blue ridge hunter last week. I love the blade but I'm also having to work with some things on it. It took me a bit to get it dialed in on sharpening. Also I think the blade is a bit too thick for me. The casewell finish will rub off rather quickly. Ergonomics are fantastic and the sheath is one of the best.

I have both, daily carry is the belt knife. The hunting knife feels sharper. The belt I believe has a wider edge by design. If I had to choose one I would go hunting knife to handle daily chores and gutting.

I've had his 80crv2 belt knife, winklers blade hq bushcraft knife, and two of tad edition belt knives in 3v.

I still have the tad belt knife in 3v, it's handle is slightly different than the normal belt knife but I prefer it.

The belly on the belt knife is excellent for skinning, I used mine this past week on a 300lb hog I raised, the rubber grip is perfect for slick hands.

I say get a belt knife in rubber handles.

Thanks guys! any chance of getting some pictures?
Also do any of you have the sculpted micarta on your Winkler?
thanks

I'll take a few today.

Beautiful blade danke.

That's the TAD one right Shiny? I had looked at those but only saw them on the bay for maybe too much.

yea this is the tad edition, I had two of them and like an idiot sold my back up  been on the hunt for another spare ever since. They are considerably more expensive on the secondary market, which sucks. I bought my first one directly from tad for 360.00 which is a steal for what you get, imo anyway.
