I had an opportunity to briefly meet and talk with Dan at California Custom Knife Show 2013.
Departed with one of his Belt Knives. This is the 52100 (IIRC) steel version with contoured handles. I did not have as much time at the show as desired and in my haste to move along for a little meeting, I thought that I had acquired a version with his recycled tire (great stuff BTW) material handles. However, now that I have had some down-time to decompress a bit and unbox the knife, I noticed that it is micarta (must have experienced some rabid form of tunnel vision from being exposed to so many tempting blades at the show :eyeburn
and although I was mistaken about the handle material while at the table, I am certainly not at all disappointed with the handle of this knife. Needless to say when time allows, I will need to contact Daniel about another in that rubber handled version... :groucho:
And really looking forward to getting familiar with Dan's sheath/belt attachment system...
