Brian4696,
I really suggest you write Daniel and ask him about any questions you may have. He's very friendly and answers within a day usually. I wrote him in the past about the belt knife and he didn't recommend it strongly for batonning through wood. He suggested the Field Knife, and he preferred the extra length it had over the hunting knife. His second suggestion was the utility knife (which I believe he can do without the serrations if you don't want them). Both would serve you well. The SAR knife is similar to the Utility but is stainless and has the spike pommel. I have a knife with a similar pommel design and it's great, but it is not that comfortable on the belt as the spike digs into my side and it also limits my ability to pound on the pommel either for tip first splitting or for hammering pegs.
