Recommendation? Winkler Operator vs Half Face Tactical Fillet

Here's my .02 and I doubt it's even worth that: Winkler is an ABS master bladesmith and has been commissioned by numerous SOF units. Half Face is run by a guy that was SOF (NSWO-SEAL, ret). Personally, I'd go with the guy that's been doing it for 30+ years. Winkler gets my vote all day every day.

PS: full disclosure, I'm biased since I carried a Winkler Belt Knife on my last tour in AFG. 🤙

I like them both, however, the Tactical Filet knife is way daintier. It is not flexible like a filet knife but it is thin and delicate. It seems it be designed as a weapon only. I would not pry a staple out of cork board for fear of bending it. I guess it depends on what you are using it for.

Although I cannot speak to the specific models, I have some (limited) experience with HFB.

I received a HFB Crow Jr. as a surprise gift last Christmas.

My knife isn’t fancy, but it definitely seems solid and well built. Admittedly, I haven’t used it for much more than slicing my finger yet though.

I’m doing a backcountry kayak trip later this month and plan on using it as my field knife.

After receiving a combat fillet today, as beautiful as it is IN MY OPINION, its more of a one purpose hole maker where the operator gives a bit more versatility for edc with the shape of the handle. Both great blades though

It don't feel its dainty in any way... .165" thick . Where the operator is actually .156" tips are similar on mine. There is lot of variances though as they're all hand ground

Well just got them side by side and snapped some pics.. went to upload and remembered my gold lapsed last week. Gimme another day or two to re upgrade and post. Sorry guys!
