Hi everyone. I’m looking to purchase a winkler SD1 or 2 but Im having issues on pulling the trigger based on the size of the knife and size of my hands. I know the overall length is around 7 inches with the blade length around 1 1/4. (Winker website)
For those of you who own one, how would you say it fairs in terms of size compared to other knives? For those who owned one, was the sizing the reason you got rid of it?I’ve held a guardian 3 and it fits small in my hand. Is this around the same length or is the winkler more comfortable ? Thanks gents!

Blade length of the SD1/SD2 is 3-1/4" (not 1-1/4")

I regularly carry my SD2 and find it to be a great size. I wear a M/L glove, and can get a full 4-finger grip on it. I have also a Guardian 3, but recently sold it. I find the SD2 more comfortable in the hand.

Btw - there's a Winkler thread:

Winkler sd1/2 is not bad at all for such a small blade in fact I was pleasantly surprised at how much grip I was able to get, but it is a small blade! I have size large/XL and it fits in my hand well enough to be useful though ultimately I usually go with a larger one for me EDC. Hope that helps a bit.

I get 4 fingers on the SD1 and like how it feels in the hand, I would compare somewhat to a Bradford Guardian 3, the G3 has a shorter handle and slightly shorter overall length but has the finger choil so I can get a full comfortable grip, like how the SD1 fits in my hand better and gifted the G3 to my son. For reference I wear a large glove and sometimes XL if a brand runs small. My hands are large enough to palm a basketball, I'm 6'1" 185 and have a more slender build so I'm not fat fisted. Hope that helps.

I mistyped. You are right about the length

This! I wanted a g3 but for the same reasons, passed on it. I too go between L-XL hands. Much appreciated
