Well it looks like its that time of the year again, when im itching to buy a new hawk of some sort. I have an assortment of rmj's, a storm crow hawk, and a woods hawk from hunter martin, cold steels, and a kangee from crkt. What im looking into is a winkler this time. I really love my jenny wren, my primary use is outdoors, on horse back, or on my quads, hunting and general camping. My main use is some bushcraft type work, and maybe working game in the field. What I have realized, is 4140 is tough as hell, but wont hold up skinning. So step in winkler, 5160 steel, thick and durable as hell, will hold up to splitting bone, cutting wood, and skinning. Im wondering if anyone has any side by side shots of a jenny wren next to a winkler hunter axe or stealth axe. Im even looking into the combat axe, I love the sayoc, but im not paying that much. Trying to stay under 600. My problem is, Im not sure if the stealth or hunter is long enough to be an efficient chopper, or breacher in an emergency. Thanks.
